This week our guest was Marissa DeVito, Head of Music Marketing & Curation at Soundcloud. Marissa and I have known each other since 2012 when we worked together at Universal Music. Since then, Marissa went on to work at Island Records and Def Jam before making the jump to Soundcloud where she’s been for the last 5 years. In part 1 of our two-part interview, Marissa shares how she got into the music business, what she enjoys most about it, and how Soundcloud is doubling down on its efforts to help artists while also being a streaming service and social platform for fans.
